Finished Components Parts
While hardfacing a machine part does enhance its strength and durability against wear, many component designs do not lend themselves to hardsurfacing. A number of design engineers not only prefer, but also demand components to be made entirely from wear resistant alloys in order to improve wear performance. Weartech offers high quality components made from different types of starting stocks including centrifugal castings, solid cast bar stocks, solid wrought bar stocks, investment castings and sand castings.
Precision Valve Trim Components

Weartech custom manufactures valve trim components to our customers' drawings and specifications. These valve trim components can be manufactured as a solid or hardfaced part, depending on the customers' requirements. The valve trim components we manufacture include: plugs, seat rings, cages, retainers, balls, discs and seals.
Petrochemical Erosion Components

Sleeves and bearings are often made from our cobalt- and nickel-based alloys due to their excellent metal-to-metal wear and abrasion resistance. The exceptionally low coefficient of friction in the cobalt alloys makes them an ideal choice for erosion type components. The petrochemical components we manufacture include: box spring spacers, bore sleeves, nose caps, flow detectors, guards and rotors.
Rolls, Sleeves
& Bushings

Rolls, sleeves and bushings are also often made from our cobalt- and nickel-based alloys due to their excellent metal-to-metal wear and abrasion resistance. The exceptionally low coefficient of friction in the cobalt alloys makes these an ideal choice for the following applications: galvanizing rolls, continuous cast rolls, heat shears and sheet and scale beaker rolls.

Component Services
Machining

Components can be supplied either as rough machined or finished machined parts. Weartech has a fully equipped machine shop that is able to perform an array of machining and finishing operations using state-of-the-art CNC lathes. With the capability to produce both simple and complete parts, Weartech’s machining department offers excellent quality and on-time service.
Hardfacing

Weartech provides hardfacing services to apply wear and corrosion resistant alloys to components typically manufactured from softer base metals like carbon and stainless steels. Weartech’s hardfacing alloys help improve the life of finish machined components, thereby reducing maintenance costs and downtime.
Finishing Operations

In addition to machining, Weartech offers other finishing operations and is capable of providing turnkey finished components and parts to exacting tolerances. Operations that are performed in-house or through qualified sub-contractors include OD, ID, centerless and blanchard grinding, honing, milling, deburring, hipping, EDM, NDT, coating, nitriding and plating.
Cobalt & Nickel Coatings for High-Temp Corrosion & Abrasion
Weartech provides hardfaced components where we apply wear- and corrosion-resistant alloys to components typically manufactured from softer base metals like carbon and stainless steels. Weartech’s hardfacing alloys help improve the life of finish machined components, thereby reducing maintenance costs and downtime.
Weartech offers custom hardfacing of components from simple to moderate complexity by various welding methods including PTA, TIG and MIG, to create a superior high strength metallurgical bond that is formed between the base material and the hardfaced overlay. After hardfacing the components, they are post weld heat-treated, and then machined to specification.
Weartech has an extensive system of Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) qualifications per ASME section IX code requirements. These procedures have allowed our hardfacing and welding department to provide consistently high quality and repeatable welds which are supported by Procedure Qualification Records for each material and welding type used.
