Rapid Prototyping for that short run or speed to market need or for the engineering design not quite yet proven?
Do you only need one or two parts?
Do you want to avoid expensive tooling and long lead times?
Is Engineering not quite set on their design and would like to evaluate design iterations simultaneously, without very expensive tooling costs?
Are you in a race with your competition to put your next innovative product in your customers hands before your competition does?
Weartech has just the answer. Utilizing our prototyping capabilities that employ state of the art additive manufacturing technology, you can do all these things and more. Our technology enables you to build parts without expensive tooling and maintain the dimensional integrity of production components made from costlier tooling.

3D Printed Wax Patterns
- Cost: eliminates need for costly injection tooling
- Lead time: most patterns are printed in hours as opposed to weeks/months for tooling
- Dimensional stability: dimensional repeatability rivals that of injected waxes
- Surface finish: 90 RMA is a typical finish – exactly equivalent to injected wax patterns
- Complex geometries: what can be CAD designed, can be printed
- Freedom of design flexibility: design changes from one pattern to the next easily accomplished
- Excellent fit for low volume production runs
- Print envelope: 11.75” x 7.3” x 8”
- Larger patterns can be printed in sections, and dovetail assembled together
3D Printed Ceramic Cores: Many Advantages similar to printed wax patterns
- Cost: eliminates need for costly injection tooling
- Lead time: most patterns are printed in several hours to a day versus months for hardened steel tooling
- Dimensional stability: remarkable dimensional repeatability subject only to inconsistencies due a rough surface
- This can be improved in certain geometries via mechanical methods
- Surface finish is comparable to a sand cast surface finish (200-250 RMA)
- Material strength is comparable to current high pressure and poured core process
- Leachability for most geometries is accomplished using open bath core removal
- Freedom of design flexibility: design changes from one core to the next easily accomplished
- Excellent fit for low volume production runs
- Cores can be used in conjunction with 3D printed wax patterns
- Cores can be used in existing wax injection tooling
- Print envelope: 9.84” x 13.77” x 7.87”
